Free music online
Lately, I’ve been using Spotify to listen to music while I am at home and I can say that it is a really nifty service
You can find all kinds of music, from the latest U2 album to some pretty non-mainstream Klapa music.
In order to get free access to Spotify you need to get invited, and I still have some invitations left so feel free to ask in the comments for your invite if you need one.
Another cool thing of Spotify is that it allows the users to create and share playlists with other Spotify users. As an example, you can find the music listed in the post “10 beautiful pieces of ambient music” on this ambient music Spotify playlist that I have created.
You can also check my favourite songs playlist.

This looks interesting now that Last.fm will stop providing free online radio for most countries.
I have a little question though: is there a possibility to use another music player to listen to spotify, like Banshee?
It seems there is some advertising while you’re listening. How annoying is it?
If it can integrate correctly in my system I’d like an invite

Salut Orel!
Actually the only third-party player that I am aware of that can connect to Spotify is despotify and as it is open source there are chances others will integrate it into their players.
For me the provided player works quite well though
Regarding the ads, I noticed that recently there are more than before, but still not too disturbing (didn’t do an statistic on what percentage of the time you have ads). The only bad thing is that you cannot skip them (normal) but at least on my mac if I mute the audio, the player stops
I already sent you an invite, just in case you want to give it a try

Thanks for the invite Franchu!
I’m testing it right now and it seems good. There are many ways to define radios (decades, genre, artist), which is a good point compared to last.fm. However, I’m not sure if they’ll adapt the music to your tastes…
The software can be installed without problems using wine, but I noticed it doesn’t recognize my media keys (play, pause, next/previous). I think I’ll stick to last.fm for the moment, as they have postponed the closure of their free service.
Apparently despotify works only for paid accounts, we can maybe expect this situation to improve when spotify officially launches.
I have 10 invites now, if someone else is interested

Hi,
I’ve just discovered something great: it’s a music player called “pyjama”. It plays songs from Jamendo, so that’s 100% free music (creative commons).
It’s just perfect for discovering new musics! The interface isn’t very intuitive yet (that’s a rather young application) but there are a lot of very useful features: besides playing musics, it displays artist/album information, lyrics, stats and can even auto-add new song to your playlist, so that it never ends
